Soil Technician Lismore Region, Northern NSW Spinifex Recruiting is seeking a motivated Soil Technician to join a well-established organisation delivering essential infrastructure and development projects across the Lismore region.
This is an excellent chance for candidates with experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical investigations, laboratory testing, or civil construction to contribute to projects that support the growth and development of the local community.
About the Role As a Soil Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking field and laboratory testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
Working across a variety of civil construction and infrastructure projects, you will play a vital role in assessing the physical and mechanical properties of soils, aggregates, and other construction materials.
The position offers a mix of hands-on fieldwork and laboratory-based testing in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities Testing the physical and mechanical properties of construction materials including soils, aggregates, and rock.
Conducting field and laboratory testing in accordance with Australian Standards and relevant specifications.
Collecting, preparing, and managing samples for testing and analysis.
Undertaking compaction, density, moisture content, classification, and related materials testing.
Accurately recording test results and preparing documentation and reports.
Maintaining testing equipment and ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures.
Performing site-based testing across road, infrastructure, and civil construction projects.
Working collaboratively with engineers, contractors, project teams,



and laboratory personnel.
Assisting in the delivery of high-quality outcomes across a range of construction and infrastructure projects.
About You To be successful, you will possess: Year 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Current Class C Manual Driver Licence.
Current White Card.
Ability to undertake a variety of manual tasks both in the field and laboratory environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
Highly Regarded Previous experience testing aggregates and soils to Australian Standards.
Certificate III in Construction Materials Testing or equivalent qualification.
Commercial laboratory and field-testing experience in a similar role.
Experience working on civil construction, roads, infrastructure, or development projects.
Knowledge of quality assurance and construction testing procedures.
Experience operating testing equipment, including density testing equipment.
Understanding of geotechnical and construction materials testing principles.
