15th July, **** Job Summary The Transformer Coil Winder is responsible for winding transformer coils according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to operate coil winding machines and related equipment safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Wind transformer coils (LV, HV, and control coils) as per engineering specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, winding sheets, and manufacturing instructions.
Set up and operate manual, semi-automatic, or automatic coil winding machines.
Select and prepare appropriate conductor materials, insulation, spacers, and accessories.
Maintain proper tension, alignment, and layer insulation throughout the winding process.
Measure coil dimensions and verify electrical and mechanical tolerances.
Perform in-process quality inspections and report any defects or deviations.
Assemble coil components and prepare completed coils for the next stage of production.
Maintain production records and complete required documentation.
Ensure tools, machines, and work areas are clean and properly maintained.
Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical or mechanical trades is preferred.
Experience in transformer manufacturing, coil winding, or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Basic understanding of electrical insulation materials and transformer components.
Valuable mathematical and measuring skills.
Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, and micrometers.
Skills and Competencies Experience in coil winding (Foil and layer) Good understanding of engineering drawings Experience in AL Cu Brazing Can operate crane Understand quality standards Preferred Experience 2–5 years of experience in transformer coil winding.
Familiarity with power, distribution, dry-type, or instrument transformer manufacturing.
Experience with copper and aluminum conductor winding techniques.
Knowledge of insulation systems and transformer manufacturing processes.
