Role Overview They are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant with strong Mid-Tier background to join their growing finance and advisory team.
This role blends hands-on financial accounting with fund administration, investor reporting and advisory support.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate reporting for managed funds, investment vehicles and portfolio entities, while also contributing to internal finance operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting Close Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for internal entities, funds and investment structures.
Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports and variance analysis.
Review journals, reconciliations and balance sheet integrity across multiple entities and funds.
Fund Administration Investment Accounting Manage end-to-end fund accounting and administration for venture capital, private equity and investment vehicles.
Prepare and review fund financial statements, capital account statements and investor reports.
Calculate and maintain capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest and expense allocations.
Oversee NAV calculations and portfolio valuations in line with accounting standards and fund documentation.
Maintain investor registers,



contribution schedules and waterfall models.
Support onboarding and administration of new funds and SPVs.
Compliance Governance Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, regulatory obligations and fund documentation.
Support preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and other statutory returns for funds and related entities.
Coordinate audit processes for funds, managed entities and internal operations.
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and fund service providers.
Technical Accounting Advisory Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, investments and restructures.
Support advisory teams on fund structuring, financial modelling and investment analysis.
Assist with accounting treatments for acquisitions, exits, valuations and capital events.
Process Improvement Systems Improve fund administration, reporting and control frameworks.
Drive automation and system optimisation (e.g., Xero and fund administration tools).
Develop scalable processes to support growing fund and client portfolios.
Stakeholder Client Engagement Build strong relationships with fund managers, partners, investors and internal teams.
Provide clear financial insights to support decision-making.
Act as a trusted finance partner to clients and stakeholders.
Leadership Team Development Mentor junior accountants and fund administrators.
Contribute to building best-practice fund and accounting capability.
Support cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
Skills Experience Essential Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
CA/CPA qualification (or near completion) highly desirable.
5+ years' experience in financial services audit, fund administration or professional services.
Demonstrated experience with investment structures, funds, trusts and SPVs.
Strong understanding of fund accounting, capital accounting and investor reporting.
Proven experience managing month-end close and statutory reporting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
High proficiency in accounting systems (Xero experience advantageous) and Excel.
