Position: Diesel Motor Mechanic Position Type : Full time Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Rocklea QLD **** Our client is seeking a Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their team in Rocklea, Queensland.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Inspecting heavy vehicles, trucks, diesel generators and diesel-powered compressors to identify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
Diagnosing engine and component issues using specialised testing equipment, diagnostic software and manufacturer specifications.
Servicing diesel engines and associated systems to maintain reliability, safety and operational performance.
Repairing or replacing defective components, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering assemblies and suspension components.
Conducting preventative maintenance in accordance with scheduled servicing programs and company procedures.
Performing fault-finding activities to minimise vehicle downtime and maintain fleet availability.
Disassembling, cleaning and rebuilding mechanical assemblies and engine components as required.
Carrying out inspections of fuel, cooling, lubrication and exhaust systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Testing vehicles,



diesel generators and diesel compressors following repairs and maintenance to verify functionality and compliance with operational requirements.
Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing activities and parts used.
Interpreting workshop manuals, technical drawings and manufacturer guidelines when completing repair work.
Liaising with workshop supervisors and other trades personnel to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and industry standards.
Responding to breakdowns and conducting emergency repairs to return vehicles, diesel generators, and diesel compressors to service as quickly as possible.
Assisting in identifying recurring mechanical issues and recommending improvements to maintenance practices and fleet reliability.
Requirements: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV qualification At least two (2) years of relevant experience Current and valid driver's licence Demonstrated experience servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel engines Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and safe work practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
