You will bridge the gap between high-level strategic planning and technical execution, leading the evolution of applications that optimise complex, large-scale network operations.
What's in it for you?
You will step into a pivotal leadership position where you own the direction, lifecycle, and ongoing evolution of mission-critical planning systems and applications.
This is your opportunity to move beyond standard management and truly "own the space," maturing delivery standards and software engineering practices for a major industry-led coordination hub.
You will play a critical role supporting the business's Strategic Plan, tying together technology-enabled change with people-delivered results to ensure regional infrastructure remains resilient and sustainable.
If you enjoy the challenge of sitting at the intersection of software engineering leadership, business strategy, and enterprise-wide delivery, this role offers the autonomy to shape how mission-critical technology is delivered.
What you'll be doing: Leading Capability: You will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team across software engineering, systems analysis, and product delivery.
Orchestrating Engineering: You will oversee the lifecycle of mission-critical planning applications, ensuring they remain reliable, secure, and maintainable.
Enabling Enterprise Delivery: You will lead the development of practical delivery standards and ways of working to improve consistency and execution across the entire organisation.
Managing Complexity: Your day-to-day involves balancing operational reliability, technical sustainability, and diverse stakeholder needs within a complex environment.
Strategic Influence: You will contribute to the broader technology strategy,
providing expert advice on software maturity and future improvement opportunities.
Experience required: Technical Foundation: Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in technology leadership and software delivery.
Leadership Expertise: Proven experience leading software engineering or application delivery teams, with a strong ability to coach and build a constructive culture.
Critical System Ownership: Experience owning business-critical applications where reliability, security, and change control are paramount.
Delivery Mindset: A practical approach to initiative delivery, with the ability to create structure and momentum without unnecessary process overhead.
Communication: Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to clarify needs and resolve ambiguity across business and technical teams.
About the Organisation This is a unique, independent entity responsible for the end-to-end coordination of a vast regional supply chain.
The organisation works to align capacity with demand, integrating maintenance and operations to synchronise complex infrastructure flow.
It is a culture committed to Integrity, Collaboration, and Leadership, working for the shared purpose of network optimisation.
Advantages: Strategic Impact: Lead a move into next-generation supply chain maturity and capability.
Leadership Autonomy: Manage a direct team of up to 9 professionals with significant influence over technology-enabled change.
Collaborative Environment: Work in a culture that values "Care for People" and fosters an environment where each individual can thrive.
