Opportunity An outstanding chance is available for an Intensive Care Consultant to join a well-established, high-performing critical care service within a major regional health network.
Working as part of a collegial and supportive ICU team, you will play a key role in the management of complex and high-acuity patients while contributing to service leadership, quality improvement, and education.
The unit delivers a broad case mix, including medical, surgical, trauma, and post-operative critical care, with close integration with emergency, anaesthetics, and specialty services.
Strong senior support, an emphasis on teaching and supervision, and involvement in training programs create an ideal environment for both professional development and long-term career progression.
Hospital The hospital is one of the largest regional tertiary facilities in Victoria, employing more than 3,500 staff and delivering care across a catchment that spans nearly a quarter of the state.
With over 650 beds, the service manages more than 42,000 inpatient admissions each year and approximately 50,000 emergency presentations.
It supports a busy surgical program with 11 operating theatres and nearly 13,000 procedures annually, alongside comprehensive medical, obstetric, mental health, and specialty services.
The intensive care unit is a 20-bed,
mixed medical–surgical ICU equipped with modern technology and supported by onsite subspecialties, providing high-level critical care within a regional referral setting.
Location Located in one of Victoria's largest and most dynamic regional cities, the area offers an exceptional lifestyle with all the amenities of a metropolitan centre without the congestion.
The city supports a population of more than 320,000 and is home to excellent public and private schools, respected universities, cultural institutions, and modern sporting facilities.
