Hunter Manning is supporting our client to recruit a Payroll Compliance Specialist on a contract basis.
This role suits an experienced payroll professional who thrives on getting into the detail — using advanced Excel to test, validate, and safeguard the integrity of payroll processes and outputs.
This is a outstanding opportunity for a payroll specialist with a compliance-first mindset to bring those skills to a role with genuine variety and impact.
Key Responsibilities Review payroll processes and outputs against legislative, award, and enterprise agreement requirements Conduct compliance checks and audits across payroll data, identifying and resolving discrepancies Reconcile payroll outputs to statutory obligations (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax) and the general ledger Build and maintain Excel-based models and testing tools to detect errors, underpayments, or non-compliance Consolidate and validate payroll data across multiple systems to support compliance reporting Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for management and leadership Support internal and external audits with clean, well-structured,



defensible data About You Solid background in payroll, with hands-on experience processing and compliance-checking payroll in a complex environment Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards/EAs, and superannuation obligations Advanced Excel skills — Power Query, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH; VBA/macro experience highly regarded High attention to detail and confidence reconciling numbers across sources Comfortable working autonomously in a contract capacity Why Apply Play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance for a well-established organisation Contract role with potential for extension for the right person Perth-based, supporting a well-established and welcoming team If you're a payroll professional with an eye for compliance and advanced Excel skills, we'd love to hear from you.
