Position: Wall and Floor Tiler Position Type : Full-Time, ongoing Salary: $79,000 to $82,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Tarneit VIC **** Our client MS Waterproofing Tiling Pty Ltd is a Victorian tiling and waterproofing contractor based in Tarneit, providing wall and floor tiling, wet-area waterproofing and associated finishing services to residential and commercial construction projects across metropolitan Melbourne.
The business works with builders, developers and private clients, delivering tiling installations to a high standard of workmanship in compliance with the National Construction Code and applicable Australian Standards.
They are currently seeking a Wall and Floor Tiler to join their team.
The Wall and Floor Tiler is responsible for laying ceramic, porcelain, stone and other tiles on internal and external walls and floors, and for the preparation and waterproofing of surfaces prior to tiling.
The position is central to the company's core service offering and requires a skilled tradesperson capable of delivering quality tiling and waterproofing work independently across multiple sites, consistent with the occupation of Wall and Floor Tiler as described at ANZSCO ******.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: ·Examining plans, drawings and specifications to determine tiling layouts, materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
·Measuring and marking out surfaces to be tiled and setting out reference points and levels to ensure accurate alignment of tiles.
·Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, cleaning and levelling surfaces, and applying screeds, renders and underlays as required.
·Applying waterproofing membranes and sealants to wet areas including bathrooms, laundries, balconies and showers in accordance with AS **** (Waterproofing of domestic wet areas) and relevant building standards, and conducting flood testing where required.




·Cutting and shaping tiles using hand tools, tile-cutting machines, wet saws and angle grinders to fit around fixtures, edges, corners and irregular surfaces.
·Laying ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic and other tiles on walls and floors using adhesives, cement-based mortars and mastics.
·Preparing and applying grout between tiles, removing excess grout, and finishing and sealing joints to achieve a clean, watertight finish.
·Installing tile trims, angles, expansion joints and movement joints to manufacturer specifications.
·Checking completed work for alignment, level and finish quality, and rectifying any defects.
·Estimating quantities of tiles, adhesives, waterproofing products and other materials, and preparing measurements for quotations.
·Maintaining tools and equipment in safe working order and keeping work areas clean and safe.
·Complying with occupational health and safety requirements, protected work method statements (SWMS) and site-specific induction requirements on residential and commercial construction sites.
·Liaising with builders, site supervisors, other trades and clients to coordinate work schedules and resolve on-site issues.
Requirements: ·AQF Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (CPC***** or equivalent), or at least three years of relevant on-the-job experience in lieu of the formal qualification, consistent with ANZSCO Skill Level 3.




·A minimum of 12 months of relevant experience ·Valid drivers licence White Card ·Demonstrated experience in wall and floor tiling across residential and/or commercial projects, including wet-area waterproofing.
·Sound knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to tiling and waterproofing, including AS ****** (Installation of ceramic tiles) and AS ****.
·Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
·Competence in the use of tiling hand and power tools, including wet saws, grinders, mixers and levelling systems.
·Strong attention to detail and commitment to a high standard of workmanship.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
·Current White Card (General Construction Induction) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
·Physical fitness to perform manual work, including lifting, bending and working in confined spaces.
Employment Terms and Conditions ·The position is full-time and ongoing, with ordinary hours of 38 per week plus reasonable additional hours as required by project schedules.
·Remuneration and conditions of employment will be no less favourable than those provided under the Building and Construction General On-site Award **** and the National Employment Standards, and will meet all applicable requirements under the Migration Regulations ****, including the annual market salary rate and applicable income threshold requirements.
·Superannuation is payable in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act ****.
·The position is based at the employer's premises in Tarneit, Victoria, with daily travel to work sites across metropolitan Melbourne as directed.
Reporting and Supervision The position reports directly to the Director who is responsible for the allocation of work, supervision of site activities and quality control.
The Wall and Floor Tiler may be required to provide guidance to labourers or apprentices assisting on site from time to time.
