About the Role We are seeking motivated Road Workers / Truck Drivers to join a regional road maintenance team responsible for keeping local road networks safe, reliable and operational.
This hands-on position combines civil maintenance activities with medium rigid truck driving and offers the opportunity to work across a variety of maintenance and emergency response tasks within a supportive team environment.
This role is well suited to candidates who enjoy outdoor work, have a strong commitment to workplace safety and are comfortable performing physically demanding tasks while contributing to essential public infrastructure.
Position: Road Worker / Truck Driver Pay Rates: Road Worker - $*****p/h + super, Truck Driver - $*****p/h + super Location: Balranald, NSW Working Arrangement: On-site Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 weeks with possible extension Hours: 76 hours per fortnight (8.5-hour days) Roster:



9-day fortnight Key Responsibilities Carry out routine road maintenance and civil works across the road network.
Operate Medium Rigid vehicles to transport personnel, equipment and materials.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
Undertake road pavement repairs, pothole patching and shoulder maintenance.
Install, repair and maintain road signs, guide posts and guard rails.
Assist with traffic control activities in accordance with approved traffic management plans.
Operate hand tools, power tools and small plant safely and efficiently.
Respond to emergency call-outs and unplanned maintenance requests.
Collect roadside litter and maintain clean, safe work environments.
Complete pre-start checks and follow safe work procedures at all times.
Work collaboratively within a maintenance crew while following supervisor instructions.
Identify hazards and report maintenance issues to support proactive asset management.
Assist with loading, unloading and handling materials and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of completed work and vehicle usage.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Previous experience in road maintenance, civil construction, infrastructure maintenance or a similar outdoor environment.
Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence or higher.
Construction White Card.
Work Safely in the Construction Industry (WHS) certification or equivalent.
Traffic Control tickets (at least TCR IMP) or willingness to obtain at own cost.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and small plant equipment.
Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Reliable,



physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual labour in varying weather conditions.
Ability to follow work instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to attend emergency call-outs when required.
Ability to pass a National Police Check clearance Ability to provide two recent work references.
Valid Australian working rights.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
