About the Role RRB Corporation is seeking an experienced, dedicated Systems Administrator to join our growing operations based in Coonabarabran, NSW.
In this critical infrastructure role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our operating systems, virtual environments, server infrastructure, and associated databases to ensure optimum system integrity, security, backup, and performance.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Administer, configure, and maintain physical and virtual Windows Server and VMware vSphere/ESXi infrastructures, ensuring high availability and seamless daily operations.
Plan and execute enterprise platform upgrades, server migrations, and routine patching cycles (including WSUS management and firmware updates) to maintain a secure compliance posture.
Execute operational establishment, monitoring, and preventive maintenance of backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and rapid restore capabilities.
Administer Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and enterprise database support (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).
Provide tier-3 troubleshooting and service support to diagnose, resolve,



and repair server-related hardware and software malfunctions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and security vendors to implement vulnerability remediation, system updates, and robust security controls.
Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and detailed system logs.
Selection Criteria Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, or a closely related field (or equivalent qualified experience).
Minimum 5+ years of dedicated professional experience working as a Systems Administrator or Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
Extensive hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and Microsoft Windows Server administration across enterprise platforms.
Proven track record in managing server patching, platform migrations, database administration (MS SQL), and backup/disaster recovery protocols.
Strong troubleshooting skills with active directory management, GPO, WSUS, network components, and root-cause analysis.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
