LO-GO Appointments (QLD) is currently assisting Noosa Council with the recruitment of an experienced Taxation Compliance Governance Lead for a 12-month engagement.
This specialist project role will lead a range of taxation compliance, governance and risk management initiatives, supporting the organisation to strengthen compliance frameworks, improve processes and ensure ongoing legislative obligations are met.
Key responsibilities: Lead taxation compliance reviews across a range of payroll, employment and contractor arrangements.
Assess and identify taxation and regulatory risks, recommending practical remediation strategies.
Review and enhance governance frameworks, policies, procedures and internal controls.
Provide specialist advice relating to FBT, GST, Superannuation Guarantee and contractor engagement obligations.
Support organisational capability through documentation, knowledge transfer and compliance guidance.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver sustainable compliance outcomes.
What you need: Demonstrated experience leading taxation, superannuation, governance or compliance-focused projects.
Advanced knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, particularly FBT, GST,



Superannuation Guarantee and contractor engagement models.
Proven experience undertaking compliance reviews, identifying regulatory risk and supporting governance uplift initiatives.
Strong project management, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Current C Class Driver Licence.
Experience within Local Government, public sector or other large complex organisations will be highly regarded.
Important: Applicants must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia.
This opportunity is suited to candidates already located on the Sunshine Coast, and within easy commuting distance of Tewantin.
Hybrid work arrangement is available, including a combination of office-based and work-from-home days.
