Pristine Oyster Farm on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, is seeking a dedicated full-time Aquaculture Farmhand(Senior Farmhand) to support the oyster production process in Cowell, SA, including assisting with the operation and ongoing maintenance of a newly introduced wet storage system.
The Senior Farmhand will work under the direction of the Team Leader while providing guidance and support to General Farmhands.
Qualifications required: Current Australian Coxswain Grade 3 Current Australian Forklift License Current Australian Driver's License Current First Aid Certificate with CPR Responsibilities: General oyster husbandry and farming activities, including oyster loading, unloading, grading, packing, lease line adjustments, stocking, handling, and routine care of oyster stocks Monitor oyster growth, condition, and mortality rates, reporting any issues or abnormalities to Team Leader Operate boats and forklifts, perform basic maintenance and refuel when required Assist with routine water quality assessments and maintain accurate records to support optimal oyster growing conditions Assist in maintaining accurate and organised records of aquaculture activities, stock movements, inventory, and operational tasks Follow and implement biosecurity procedures to maintain oyster health, prevent disease, and ensure farm hygiene standards Operate boats and forklifts,



perform basic maintenance and refuel when required Operate grading equipment and assist with basic maintenance duties Assist with the operation and day-to-day maintenance of the wet storage system, including tank installation, pipework and equipment mounting Assist with building or infrastructure tasks related to oyster production and wet storage system maintenance Carry out general housekeeping, conduct regular inspections to identify and address any cleaning or maintenance needs Provide guidance and on-the-job training to General Farmhands, assisting the Team Leader to ensure smooth daily operations Follow workplace health and safety procedures, report hazards promptly, and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
Skills required: 1 year of experience in aquaculture or a related field.
Previous experience with rotary grader would be advantageous.
Previous experience with wet storage systems would be advantageous.
Previous experience in building is highly regarded, particularly for assisting with installation, setup, and ongoing maintenance of the recent wet storage system.
Ability to work in outdoor and aquatic environments.
Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.

Additional Details: Position Type: Full-time 38 hours per week.
Annual Salary: $71,000 AUD to $72,000 AUD per year plus additional mandatory super.
