The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods while maintaining high standards of product quality, food safety, and workplace hygiene.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare, mix, knead, and bake a variety of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, biscuits, and other baked products in accordance with recipes and production requirements.
2. Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients to ensure consistency and product quality.
3. Monitor fermentation, proofing, baking, and cooling processes to achieve the required quality standards.
4. Decorate and finish baked products as required.
5. Develop and trial current recipes and baked products in consultation with management.
6. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering baking ingredients and supplies.
7. Ensure ingredients and finished products are stored appropriately to maintain freshness and quality.
8.



Operate, clean, and maintain baking equipment and work areas in accordance with safety procedures.
9. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) compliance.
10. Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production schedules and customer demand.
Skills and Requirements
1. Relevant qualification in Baking or a related field OR equivalent industry experience.
2. Relevant experience in a commercial bakery, café, or food production setting.
3. Sound knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and food production processes.
4. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
5. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced production setting.
7. Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
