Finance Commercial Manager North Melbourne Construction / Trade Services Reports to GM An exciting opportunity has become available for a commercially focused Finance Commercial Manager to join a growing business based in North Melbourne .
This hands-on role will oversee the day-to-day finance operations while partnering closely with Operations and Estimating teams to improve financial performance, reporting, and business processes.
Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day finance operations including cashflow, AP, AR, payroll, and reporting Prepare cashflow forecasts and supplier payment schedules Oversee invoice approvals, supplier management, and retention tracking Manage monthly WIP reporting, job costing, project performance, and margin analysis Partner with Operations to identify cost savings, risks, and efficiency improvements Improve finance systems, processes, reporting,



and data accuracy Work closely with external bookkeepers and accountants to ensure compliance and timely reporting About YouYou will be a proactive finance professional with experience in a hands-on commercial environment.
Ideally, you will have: Experience in finance, accounting, or commercial operations Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and project reporting Construction, trades, engineering, or project-based industry experience preferred Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero (essential) Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with operational teams A continuous improvement mindset and ability to work autonomously Qualifications Finance, Accounting, or Business qualification preferred CPA/CA highly regarded but not essential Current driver's licence required This is a excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of a key role and make a genuine impact within a growing organisation.
