About the job Senior Leadership Opportunity Major Tertiary Health Service in Australia The Chance This position offers the chance to shape the future of a high-acuity cardiology service across two major hospital sites, working in a state-of-the-art environment with a comprehensive interventional and electrophysiology program, advanced diagnostics, and a strong commitment to research, teaching, and innovation.
You will lead a complex, multidisciplinary cardiology service spanning: Interventional cardiology including PCI and structural heart programs (including TAVI) Electrophysiology, ablation, and cardiac device implantation Advanced cardiac diagnostics and imaging Acute, ambulatory, and rehabilitation services This is a role with genuine scope to influence service design, performance, and long-term strategy across a growing health system.
The Role This is a Senior Staff Specialist position with Unit Director responsibilities, combining: Clinical practice (~60%) Leadership, governance, and management (~40%) You will work closely with executive and clinical leadership to drive performance, strengthen integration across sites, and position the service for future growth.
Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership across cardiology services Lead clinical governance, quality, and safety frameworks Drive service improvement, redesign, and performance outcomes Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and team development Support RACP training, accreditation, and education programs Contribute to budget planning and operational management Engage and influence stakeholders across multidisciplinary and executive teams About You You are a proven clinical leader who combines technical credibility with strong interpersonal and leadership capability.
