About the Role As a Full Stack Developer, you'll contribute to the ongoing development and modernisation of the Schoolbox platform.
Working within our Product team, you'll build secure, scalable and high-performing software across both frontend and backend technologies that supports thousands of educators, students and families every day.
You'll collaborate closely with Product Owners, Designers, Technical Architects, QA and fellow Developers to deliver new features, enhance existing functionality and continuously improve our platform.
This role offers the prospect to work across the full technology stack, balancing feature delivery with ongoing platform modernisation, performance, security and maintainability within a mature production environment.
In this role you will: Develop and maintain high-quality frontend and backend applications using PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript and Vue.
Build and maintain scalable REST APIs and optimise database performance.
Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of our frontend and backend architecture.
Develop responsive, accessible and user-friendly interfaces.
Write and maintain automated tests to improve software quality and reduce regressions.
Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality product features.
Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous platform improvements.
Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies while supporting engineering best practices.
Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality and developer workflows.




About You 3+ years' experience developing commercial full stack web applications.
Strong experience with object-oriented PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SASS and responsive web development.
Experience with Vue.js (or a similar modern frontend framework).
Strong understanding of REST APIs, relational databases and modern web application architecture.
Experience working with mature applications and contributing to ongoing platform improvements.
Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing and Agile delivery.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools in a professional software development environment.
