Our client is an established and rapidly growing design-led furniture and interiors brand seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to establish and grow its presence across Queensland.
This newly created role offers the opportunity to work autonomously, build a strong network within the architecture and design community, and play a pivotal role in expanding the brand's footprint in the local market.
Initially offered as a 12-month contract, the position is fully remote, with plans to transition to a hybrid model as the business establishes a dedicated showroom presence in Brisbane.
The Role As the Queensland Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term client relationships, and driving specification and sales across the architecture, interior design, and property development sectors.
You will represent a premium product collection, delivering tailored solutions that align with each client's project requirements while ensuring an exceptional customer experience from first introduction through to project completion.
Working closely with the wider sales team, you will also contribute to brand awareness through networking, industry events, and strategic market engagement, while providing valuable market insights to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities Develop new business opportunities across architects, interior designers, developers, and key trade partners.
Build and manage a solid pipeline of specification and project opportunities.
Present premium furniture and interior solutions through engaging client meetings and presentations.
Manage the full sales process from prospecting through to project completion.
Build lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service and ongoing account management.
Represent the brand at industry events,



networking functions, and design activations.
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales reporting.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the Queensland market.
Provide feedback on client requirements and product opportunities to support future business growth.
Skills and Experience You are a commercially driven sales professional who combines a genuine passion for design with the ability to develop meaningful industry relationships.
You enjoy working autonomously, thrive on creating new opportunities, and have a proven track record of growing market share within the furniture, interiors, or architectural products sector.
You will ideally have: 5+ years' experience in business development, specification sales, or account management within the furniture, interiors, or design industry.
An established network of architects, interior designers, developers, and trade professionals.
Strong knowledge of the specification process across residential and commercial projects.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
