From its beginnings in parcel distribution, the business has grown into a diversified transport operation supporting container movements, general freight, warehousing, distribution and third-party logistics services across Western Australia.
Due to continued operational requirements, we are seeking an experienced Fleet Controller to join the company's busy Welshpool transport operation.
About the Role As Fleet Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily movement of drivers, vehicles and freight across a fast-paced transport operation.
You will be the central point of communication between drivers, customers, warehouse personnel, wharf operations and the wider operations team.
This position requires someone who can confidently forward-plan while also responding quickly to delays, breakdowns, booking changes and other unexpected operational issues.
Your responsibilities will include: Planning and allocating daily transport movements Coordinating drivers, vehicles, trailers and equipment Scheduling container collections, deliveries and wharf movements Monitoring daily jobs, driver progress and delivery timeframes Communicating job instructions clearly to drivers Maintaining regular communication with customers regarding job progress Responding to delays,
breakdowns and changing operational requirements Working closely with warehouse and operations personnel Maximising fleet utilisation and operational efficiency Maintaining accurate transport records and system information Supporting safe transport operations and Chain of Responsibility requirements Escalating operational issues to management where required What You Will Need To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have: At least five years of experience within transport, fleet control, dispatch or scheduling Previous experience coordinating container transport or wharf movements Strong knowledge of Perth metropolitan roads and industrial areas Experience allocating drivers and vehicles in a busy transport workplace Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills Strong planning, scheduling and organisational abilities Confidence managing changing priorities and urgent transport requests The ability to provide clear and concise instructions Good computer literacy and experience using transport management systems An understanding of transport safety and Chain of Responsibility requirements The ability to work both autonomously and as part of an operations team A calm, professional and solutions-focused approach What's on Offer Welshpool-based position Join a long-established WA-owned transport business Work within a busy and diverse transport operation Stable, long-term employment opportunity Competitive remuneration based on experience Supportive operations and management team Opportunity to develop your transport and logistics career How to Apply If you have fleet control, transport scheduling or container operations experience and are ready to take on a key role within a busy transport operation, please click Apply Now and submit your current resume.
