Our Client, The Trustee for That Farming Group Unit Trust is seeking a skilled Agricultural Technician to join their team in Kungala NSW.
Tasks Include: · Monitor the health, growth, and productivity of large-scale blueberry crops and identify issues affecting plant performance.
· Collect and analyse soil, water, and leaf tissue samples to assess nutrient levels and recommend appropriate fertiliser applications.
· Develop and implement irrigation and fertigation programs to optimise blueberry growth, fruit quality, and yield.
· Monitor flowering, fruit set, berry development, and harvest readiness to maximise production outcomes.
· Conduct regular crop inspections to identify pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies, and implement appropriate treatment programs.
· Assist in preparing and managing spray programs in accordance with integrated pest management (IPM) practices and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain accurate records of crop performance, fertiliser applications, irrigation schedules, chemical usage, and production data.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of cultivation techniques, pruning practices, mulching,
and weed management strategies to improve productivity.
· Assist in conducting trials of new blueberry varieties, growing techniques, and production technologies to enhance farm performance.
· Provide technical advice and recommendations to Farm Management on crop health, production improvements, and sustainable farming practices.
· Monitor compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental, and biosecurity requirements across farming operations.
· Support harvest planning by monitoring fruit quality, maturity, and production targets to ensure productive harvesting and packing operations.
Qualifications and Requirements · A Diploma level qualification in Horticulture or equivalent work experience · 1 years of relevant experience working as an Agricultural Technician · Ability to work independently and without supervision.
· Ability to problem solve and have critical thinking skills.
· Must have a keen eye for details with ability to pick smallest imperfections.
· Excellent oral communication skills.
