About the Role
As the AI and Automation Lead, you will establish, lead and scale AMSA's artificial intelligence (AI) and automation capability.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and as a key member of the DITS Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership and hands-on delivery oversight across AMSA's AI and automation capability.
Working in partnership with business leaders across the organisation, you will identify opportunities, drive the adoption of AI and automation, and deliver practical solutions that achieve tangible business outcomes.
Bringing strategic vision and delivery expertise, you will lead initiatives from concept through to implementation, ongoing operation and continuous improvement within robust governance, security, privacy and ethical frameworks.
In this role you will:
Provide strategic leadership
to establish and grow AMSA's AI and automation capability, shaping strategic direction and contributing to the agency's digital future.
Partner with the business
to identify opportunities,
develop practical solutions and deliver AI and automation initiatives that create measurable organisational value.
Lead enterprise delivery
of AI and automation initiatives, driving outcomes from concept through to implementation, adoption and ongoing optimisation.
Strengthen governance and assurance
by embedding responsible AI practices and ensuring compliance with governance, security, privacy and legislative requirements.
Drive organisational adoption and capability
by championing the effective use of AI, supporting change, and building knowledge and capability across the organisation.
Embed service excellence and continuous improvement
by establishing sustainable operational models, monitoring performance and enhancing AI and automation services.
Lead and develop a high-performing team
, fostering collaboration, innovation and a customer-focused culture.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a strategic and collaborative leader who can combine strategic vision with practical delivery expertise to establish and grow AMSA's AI and automation capability while delivering meaningful business outcomes.
You will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Business, Data, Digital Transformation or a related discipline, or a minimum of eight years' relevant industry experience.
Strong understanding of AI, generative AI and automation technologies, and their practical application in business environments.
Proven ability to engage, influence and communicate with senior stakeholders, translating business needs into practical technology-enabled solutions and presenting complex concepts to executive audiences.
Experience leading multidisciplinary initiatives involving business engagement, change management, adoption and technical delivery.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Experience establishing governance,
risk and assurance practices for technology initiatives, with an understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, information management and responsible AI.
