About Us Malwa Fusion Junction is a vibrant Indian restaurant located in the heart of Kangaroo Flat, in the Ballarat, Bendigo The Goldfields region of Victoria.
Listed on the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG), we are passionate about delivering an authentic and contemporary Indian dining experience to our local community.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and help us deliver exceptional food with every service.
About the Role As a Chef, you will plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in our dining establishment.
With a focus on Indian cuisine, you will bring creativity, technical skill, and cultural knowledge to the kitchen, ensuring every dish reflects the quality and authenticity our guests expect.
Key Duties Responsibilities Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs,



and ordering food supplies Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and kitchen and waiting staff Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures Preparing and cooking food Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations Selecting and training staff as required Freezing and preserving foods as required Requirements AQF Associate Degree, Certificate IV, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) Proven experience of at least 1 year as a Chef in an Indian or South Asian cuisine restaurant Strong knowledge of Indian culinary traditions, spices, and regional cooking styles Ability to plan, cost, and manage menus effectively Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen compliance Ability to lead and mentor kitchen staff in a busy service environment At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications What We Offer Competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience A welcoming and culturally rich kitchen environment Secure, full-time hours with a supportive management team The opportunity to showcase and build on your Indian culinary expertise A chance to be part of a growing, community-focused restaurant in regional Victoria
