As a
Recovery Worker
with
Wellways' Youth Transitional Care Program
, you'll make a genuine difference in the lives of young people experiencing mental health challenges.
You will walk alongside participants from referral through to ongoing support, helping them build skills, strengthen connections and access the services and opportunities they need to thrive.
This is a hands on role where no two days are the same.
You will provide practical, recovery-focused support, advocate for young people's rights and work alongside families, carers, friends, community organisations and other services to build strong networks of support.
What you'll be doing
Build trusting relationships with young people and support them to achieve their goals.
Provide practical, strengths-based and recovery-focused support.
Help young people navigate health,
community and other support services.
Work alongside families, carers, friends and kin to strengthen natural supports.
Advocate for inclusion, equality and the rights of young people.
Connect with community services and partners to create better outcomes.
Work collaboratively as part of an integrated Wellways team.
Maintain accurate case notes, assessments, plans, risk documentation and program data.
You're passionate about working alongside young people and believe everyone deserves the chance to live a fulfilling and connected life.
You will have strong relationship-building skills, a collaborative approach and the confidence to navigate complex situations and connect people with the right supports.
Most importantly, you will bring empathy, energy and a belief in the potential of every young person.
You will also need:
A contemporary understanding of mental health issues and recovery orientated mental health practice
Completion of the Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Certificate 4 in Community Services, or equivalent practical experience.
Current valid Driver Licence
Current Car Insurance and Registration
Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Satisfactory Police Records Check
Certificate of Completion - NDIS Worker Orientation Module - free online course
Right to Work within Australia and 100 Points of ID
