About the role: A Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) nurse in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District supports patients to live well with kidney disease.
You will help to monitor kidney function, slow disease progression, and coordinate care alongside nephrologists and GPs.
Patient Education & Support: Educating patients and their families about the stages of CKD, symptom management, and making informed choices regarding treatment options (including dialysis or conservative supportive care).
Care Coordination: Working closely with the multidisciplinary team (Renal Nurse Practitioners, Dietitians, Social Workers, and Aboriginal Health Workers) to ensure seamless care across both hospital and community settings.
Clinical Monitoring: Assessing fluid status, evaluating blood pressure, interpreting pathology (eGFR, creatinine, electrolytes), and monitoring disease progression.
Self-Management: Helping patients build practical skills to manage their diet, medications, and lifestyle.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: A Tertiary qualification in Nursing with current AHPRA registration to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Ability to work independently as well as working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver secure patient care.
Experience in renal care and competency in venipuncture and cannulation Current Australian Working rights
