Aged Care IS NOT where OTs & Physios go when they've given up!
Aged Care IS NOT where OTs & Physios go when they've given up!
Melbourne based role (other states available though) NO MASSAGING Occupational Therapists & Physiotherapists wanted!
The Myth
I hear it all the time.
A candidate once told me Aged Care is "where you go to retire or for your skills to expire."
For a long time, that perception wasn't far off.
OTs & Physios were seen as glorified massage therapists, stuck in a funding model that didn't value clinical skills.
My hands are going numb just thinking about it.
But the landscape has shifted, and some organisations are leading the charge.
They prove that Aged Care isn't a dead end, but a frontier for Allied Health Professionals who want to make a genuine, lasting impact.
The Reality
You won't spend your days trying to hit a massage quota until your arms fall off.
This is 100% real clinical work focused on reablement, independence, and client‐centered goals.
Create Safer Havens: Conduct thoughtful environmental assessments in clients' homes to prevent falls, introduce practical assistive technology, and empower them to navigate their space with confidence.
Restore Meaningful Activity: Develop evidence‐based reablement programs that help clients regain the ability to perform daily tasks—from making a cup of tea to tending their garden—that are central to their identity.
Champion Mobility and Connection: Implement tailored exercise and gait plans focused on managing pain, improving strength and balance, and maintaining the mobility that connects clients to their local community.
Provide Cognitive Support: Design strategies and introduce aids that simplify tasks,

reduce frustration, and support dignified daily living for clients with cognitive changes or dementia.
Educate and Empower: Provide practical guidance to clients, families, and carers on safe manual handling, energy conservation, and therapeutic strategies.
The Dream
Our client has built an environment where clinical excellence flourishes without the typical healthcare burnout.
Here is why you want to work with them:
Clinician‐Owned & Operated: The practice is run by a practising therapist who still sees clients.
Every decision, from schedule pacing (5–6 client visits max per day) to travel radius, is made from a clinician's perspective.
Zero Admin Hassle: A dedicated support team handles all initial assessment bookings, follow‐up scheduling, and client invoicing so you can focus on being a therapist.
Flexibility & Work‐Life Balance: Report from home, manage a localized territory, or drop into their central Collingwood co‐working hub whenever you want to work alongside colleagues.
Unbeatable Culture & Growth: Monthly fully paid non‐clinical team days off the tools, structured 1:1 supervision, dedicated career development allowances, and a genuinely fun, high‐energy culture.
The Criteria
Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
Full AHPRA Registration (or eligible).
Current Australian Driver's Licence & reliable vehicle.
Full working rights in Australia.
A compassionate, person‐centered approach and a willingness to learn.
If you're ready to challenge the perception of Aged Care and build a career with an organization that actually invests in its clinicians, I want to hear from you.
