The role Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you'll join the Hobart workshop team and carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs across a varied fleet of highway trucks and some mobile plant.
Your responsibilities will include: Completing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using computer-based diagnostic systems.
Carrying out breakdown repairs and major component rebuilds.
Attending occasional field breakdowns when required.
Completing job cards and service reports accurately.
Liaising professionally with customers and internal departments.
Following all company and customer safety procedures.
Participating in ongoing factory training and development.
Joining the 24-hour call-out roster approximately one week in every six.
Your skills and experience You'll hold a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology or another relevant mechanical trade qualification.
You'll also bring:



Previous experience in a heavy diesel mechanical role.
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Sound electrical diagnostic capabilities.
A high level of attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.
A genuine commitment to safety and following procedures.
Availability to participate in the on-call roster.
An HR driver's licence and forklift licence are preferred but not essential.
