Chef – Full Time Employer/Sponsor: FYANSFORD HOTEL Location: Fyansford , VIC Salary: AUD $79,499 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week).
Railway Hotel Fyansford Hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our professional kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: Planning and developing innovative menus and seasonal specials in consultation with management.
Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with budget control and stock management.
Selecting, ordering, and maintaining quality food supplies and ingredients.
Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes in accordance with established standards.
Supervising food preparation and ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety in accordance with Australian regulations.
Monitoring portion control and minimising food waste through effective stock rotation and preservation techniques.
Training, mentoring, and supervising apprentice and junior kitchen staff.




Working collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to ensure exceptional customer service.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations and menu development.
Skills and Experience To be considered for this role, applicants should possess: An Australian Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, a Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent overseas qualification.
At least 1 year of full time, post-qualification experience as a Chef Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality Australian and contemporary cuisine.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and commercial kitchen operations.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
A commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food and customer service.
