The consultancy is a specialist urban planning and development advisory practice delivering both strategic and statutory planning services across Greater Sydney and NSW more broadly.
Working with both public and private sector clients, the team focuses on connecting people, policy and place to achieve practical, well‐considered outcomes in the built environment.
The Role The Senior Planning Consultant will work closely with junior staff across a broad mix of projects, from early strategic advice through to complex development approvals.
The role offers genuine responsibility, hands‐on experience, and exposure to multiple planning frameworks.
Consultancy Technical Planning Providing urban planning advice across a range of sectors and project types within the NSW planning system Preparing and reviewing high‐quality planning documentation, including:
Stakeholder Engagement Statements of Environmental Effects Planning proposals and rezoning Environmental Impact Statements Clause 4.6 variation requests Complying development advice Design competition reports Reviews of Environmental Factors and legal briefs Ensuring accuracy, clarity and professional presentation across all deliverables Project Stakeholder Support Supporting senior planners and directors in client and government stakeholder interactions Assisting with project tracking, coordination and deadline management Exposure to project management and due diligence processes Business Development Professional Growth Assisting with the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions Supporting client relationship management through the delivery of a high standard of service Prospect to gain structured exposure to business development and consultancy operations Mentoring‐focused and supportive of all staff Highly collaborative across projects Social, engaged and invested in strong team connections Training specific to mentoring juniors and stakeholder engagement Staff are encouraged to be involved in the broader business, with structured guidance and training rather than a "sink or swim" approach.
The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: 3–5 years' experience in urban or town planning (consultancy or local government) A relevant tertiary qualification in Urban Regional Planning or a related discipline A working knowledge of NSW planning legislation and approval pathways Strong written and verbal communication skills The ability to manage multiple projects in a consultancy environment An interest in professional development and expanding technical capability Apply today or contact Jake Williamson on ************ for more information.
