What you'll do

As the Senior Project Officer, you will provide high-level project leadership and support the successful delivery of clinical informatics and information technology initiatives across Queensland Health. You will proactively support informed decision-making through the preparation of briefs, reports, presentations and submissions, while delivering expert advice on project governance, finance, administration, human resources, procurement and contract management matters. In this role, you will manage and monitor medium to large-scale projects, ensuring project documentation, deliverables and processes align with Queensland Health's project management methodologies and best practice standards. You will establish and maintain quality records for system changes, assets and performance reporting, assess and approve system changes in collaboration with users and stakeholders, and provide oversight of project progress, risks and issues. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will build strong relationships, provide mentoring and planning support, facilitate knowledge transfer, and contribute to the effective operation of the Queensland Imaging Informatics Support unit to ensure strategic objectives, regulatory requirements and organisational goals are achieved. You will also demonstrate ethical decision-making and actively identify, manage and report risks associated with your work.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

- Demonstrated ability to prepare complex financial reports, briefs, work process documentation and business cases.
- Demonstrated ability to develop management reports to assist decision-making, including the ability to utilise relevant software systems such as databases, decision support systems, financial information system and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise,



influence other and work collaboratively with people to make decisions appropriate to an setting of change and evolution as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including vendor, project and business users, technical and non-technical.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and recommend appropriate courses of action to improve business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, manage and co-ordinate a range of activities and projects with conflicting timeframes.
- Demonstrated project management knowledge, skills and experience through all stages of the project life cycle (including knowledge of project management methodologies).
- Demonstrated ability to work with or supervise staff in line with quality human resource management practices with particular reference to the Queensland Health Code of Conduct, employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
- Broad knowledge of clinical workflows and ICT environments.
