Project Accountant – Finance Transformation | 6-Month Contract

$110,000 + Super - Seeking Candidates On Short Notice

We’re currently working with a major global organisation on an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Project Accountant to join their Finance team within a large Engineering function.

This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working with large data sets, improving processes and using technology to make finance more efficient and accurate. You don’t need to be highly senior.

We’re looking for someone who is a hands-on doer, with strong finance fundamentals and the ability to get stuck into projects and deliver outcomes. This could be an ideal opportunity for a Big 4 first mover looking to transition into industry, as well as candidates on a Working Holiday Visa.

About the role: You’ll be involved in a range of finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including:

- Building and improving Alteryx workflows to automate finance processes
- Working with large data sets and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
- Reviewing processes to ensure they are accurate, controlled and minimise financial risk
- Supporting system implementations and finance-related projects
- Identifying potential risks and ensuring new processes and systems make sense from a finance perspective




- Helping modernise and streamline existing finance processes
- Working with stakeholders across different teams and locations, including interstate teams
- Ensuring processes are accurate, efficient and fit for purpose

About You

- Solid accounting/finance experience, ideally from a Big 4 environment
- Experience working with large data sets
- Hands-on Alteryx experience, ideally with the ability to build and improve workflows
- An interest in finance transformation, automation and process improvement
- Experience or exposure to system implementations
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of financial controls and risk
- Solid communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different teams
- A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to get into the detail

The opportunity This is an initial 6-month contract offering the opportunity to work on meaningful finance transformation initiatives within a large and complex Engineering environment.
