Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia's leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.

To facilitate the participation of international racehorses in Australian horse races, RV operates a post-arrival horse quarantine facility at Werribee, Werribee International Horse Centre (WIHC).

What we are looking for:

The Quarantine Reception Officer will be responsible for ensuring that only authorised persons are admitted into a quarantine compound and that the entry/exit procedures are followed.

This will be a casual appointment for the duration of the quarantine period, likely from mid September to end of November.

Duties in this role are:

- Fulfilling all procedures and requirements in the entry/exit obligations
- Adhering to relevant procedures and requirements for the collection, packaging and dispatching of samples taken
- Completing mandatory forms and documents correctly within the given timeframes




- Following procedures and requirements in the event of an accident or emergency
- Complying with all relevant SOPs

About you:

The right candidate should accept that equine welfare and integrity is essential in this role. You have good attention to detail and can follow procedures correctly and in a timely manner.

Your excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management skills and your strong ability to prioritise work will allow you to manage role requirements through clear and concise communication.

The candidate should have experience and success working independently, working within a team and with various internal and external stakeholders.
