Walgett District Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department on an 11-week contract from mid-August through late October 2026. Based at Walgett MPS in NSW, this role offers the chance to work in a dynamic ED environment with a competitive hourly rate of AUD$45.00 to AUD$60.00. The successful candidate will take on ED triage responsibilities and may be required to work in charge of the shift, bringing both clinical expertise and leadership to a busy emergency setting.

- Lead ED triage operations with responsibility for shift management
- AUD$45.00 to AUD$60.00 per hour, contract position through 30 October 2026
- Work in a regional hospital setting serving the Walgett community

Preferred Requirements





- Demonstrated experience working in emergency department triage
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Proven ability to work in charge of a shift and manage clinical priorities
- Strong assessment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced workplace
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in emergency nursing
- Familiarity with the Australasian Triage Scale and emergency department protocols
