This temporary full-time role is for a 26-week appointment, with the possibility of extension pending service requirements, relevant approval and performance.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sleep scientist to step into a leadership role within the St George Hospital Sleep Study Centre, one of the region's leading public sleep services. As Acting Manager, you will lead a skilled team of sleep scientists and nurses, oversee the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic sleep services, and play a key role in workforce development, quality improvement and clinical governance. Combining advanced technical expertise with people leadership, you will help shape the future direction of the service while supporting excellence in patient care, research and education.

The purpose-built facility brings together a broad range of clinical services, creating a central hub for outpatient and ambulatory care. Selection Criteria:

1. A science or applied science degree from an approved university requiring three years of full-time study or an equivalent qualification. A post-graduate degree related to respiratory science, biomedical engineering or management is desirable but not essential.

2. Possess sound scientific knowledge with the ability to solve problems, assist in the development of current methodologies and perform routine and/or more complex investigations on a day-to-day basis.

3. Registered or registry eligible for the Board of Polysomnographic Technologist qualification - Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT); or Accredited Clinical Physiologist (Sleep); or equivalent.

4. Demonstrated proficiency with all process to completed sleep studies, including setting up and monitoring patients for overnight/daytime studies,



pressure titration and scoring.

5. Demonstrated experience in laboratory national accreditation process.

6. Ability to supervise a team and coordinate work in an effective manner.

7. Proficient with Sleep Technology software and hardware.
