Job Title - ARCH Future Air Mission Training System - Solutions Architect

- Length of Contract: 12 months with 1 x 12 months extension possibility

Responsibilities:

- Working collaboratively with the Project, deliver technical expertise, planning support and services that will result in the technical governance, security authorisation and service management frameworks.
- The Supplier must:

- Coordinate integration activities;
- Identify all Defence platform dependencies;
- Develop integration architecture artefacts;
- Implement interface requirements;
- Coordinate with Defence stakeholders;
- Support design reviews;
- Support test activities associated with enterprise integration;
- Support remediation activities arising from governance reviews;
- Provide Project Management Services including:

- Documentation and management of the delivery of the resulting project deliverables in accordance with DDG project management standards;
- Development and maintenance of project schedules and delivery according to defined schedules;
- Management of project budget, tracking costs and expenditure to deliver the project within tolerances;
- Management of scope, quality, risk and issue management processes to ensure outcomes are delivered;
- Participation in and leading meetings with Defence customers and supporting service providers;
- Negotiation with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors where required;
- Attendance at project and program board meetings, preparation of reports, advice and recommendations for presentation at senior leadership governance forums as required; and
- Liaison with AIR5428-3 stakeholders and industry partners to ensure inter-project collaboration is maintained;
- Provide Solution Architecture Services including:

- Validation of technical solution, test, support, and certification plans to ensure all meet business and operational requirements and objectives;
- Architecture and design subject matter expertise to guide and manage the DDG system integration requirements;
- Input to integration designs for mission system integration activities;
- Participation in associated gate reviews and design approvals;
- Development and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders;
- Identification and evaluation of alternative design options and trade-offs;
- Ensuring solution is aligned with both functional and non-functional requirements;
- Review,



verification and improvement of designs against specifications;
- Stakeholder management to secure system-related products and services;
- Analysis of PSI design specification, Operational Concept Document, Functional Performance Specification and develop technical interface designs that align to Defence patterns;
- Support the development test and evaluation plans to provide traceability of the design;
- Participation in working groups to develop interface control agreements with supporting service providers;
- Management of the delivery and outcome of PSI work packages to ensure compliance;
- Provide ICT Security Services including:

- Deliver the ICT accreditation requirements and the provision of security services;
- Capture and document the security risks associated with network capabilities being delivered;
- Achieve ICT security accreditation with the relevant approval authority;
- Manage ongoing execution and maintenance of risk management controls to achieve the required security requirements with emphasis on cyber and information security compliance;
- Establish a security function providing support to the architecture, engineering and analysis;
- Definition and specification of ICT systems interoperability;
- Input into the end-to-end architecture development;
- Defining use of security policies, practices, and standards that govern security functions associated with ICT systems;
- Coordinate with internal Defence security agencies to ensure correct security postures are adhered to;
- Liaise with the project design team to understand the technology being delivered and to provide advice on security related concerns;
- Development and maintenance of the required security documentation suite to gain Defence ICT accreditation;
- Capture risk mitigation controls and ensure they are documented ensuring transparent and effective remediation steps are known;
- Manage/proactively support and monitor the processes/organisations in supporting the certificate and accreditation process.
- Provide Engineering Services including:

- Supporting the architecture, security and analysis services;




- Providing input into the end-to-end architecture development;
- Development and documentation of the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) for the ICT solution;
- Development and documentation the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) for the ICT solution;
- Support the development of the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP);
- Collaboratively develop and document TAF architectural views and documentation including the System View (SV) and Data and Information Viewpoint (DIV) artefacts;
- Input to the development of the security documentation suite required to obtain Defence Certification and Accreditation of the ICT solution;
- ICT systems engineering support to Defence Capability Acquisition & Sustainment Group (CASG) as required.

SFIA Skills Sought:

The design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs. In addition to technology components, solution architecture encompasses changes to service, process, organisation, and operating models. The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.

ARCH Level 5:

Leads the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and employed in architecture development. Within a change programme, leads the preparation of technical plans and, in liaison with business assurance and project staff, ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available. Provides advice on technical aspects of solution development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
