Weipa Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join its Theatre team on a four-week contract from 7 September to 4 October 2026. Based at Weipa IHS in Queensland, this Scrub/Scout role offers the chance to work in a dynamic operating theatre environment on a salary of AUD72.50 to AUD81.50 per hour. The successful candidate will bring strong scrub and scout expertise, alongside the ability to manage stock, coordinate theatre operations, and contribute to portfolio and audit management as a senior team member.

Preferred Requirements

- Minimum three years' experience in scrub, scout,



or anaesthetics roles
- Demonstrated experience in operating theatre coordination and stock ordering
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, with on-call availability
- Neonatal First Responder qualification
- Robust portfolio and audit management skills, with the ability to work as a senior staff member

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
- Medical Emergency Care (MEC) or Registered Emergency Care (REC) certification, highly desirable
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated expertise in perioperative nursing
