Client Profile
Our client is an established hospitality group preparing to launch an ambitious new premium dining venue in Sydney. Designed to establish a strong position within the local dining landscape, the restaurant will deliver a sophisticated food and beverage experience supported by a significant investment in the venue, team and overall guest experience. With opening scheduled for September, they are seeking an accomplished culinary leader to take ownership of the kitchen and play a defining role in the venue's success.
Job Description
This is an opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to lead the culinary direction of a new fine dining restaurant from its opening phase. Working alongside an experienced senior leadership team, you will take responsibility for delivering an exceptional food offering while establishing the standards, culture and systems required for long-term success.
The role will include:
- Lead the kitchen through final pre-opening preparations and establish strong operational standards from day one
- Deliver and evolve a premium menu with an uncompromising focus on quality, consistency and presentation
- Recruit, lead, mentor and develop a high-performing professional kitchen brigade
- Manage food costs, labour, ordering, stock control and overall kitchen performance
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to build the venue's culinary reputation and position within Sydney's dining market
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an established Head Chef or highly accomplished senior chef with a strong background in premium or fine dining restaurants. Experience within recognised and highly regarded venues will be particularly valuable, with the successful candidate bringing both culinary credibility and the leadership skills required to establish a new restaurant.
You will ideally demonstrate:
- Significant experience within recognised premium or fine dining restaurants
- Proven leadership experience at Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership level
- Strong culinary credentials with exceptional attention to quality, technique and presentation
- The presence and professional reputation to contribute to the profile and credibility of a new venue
- Strong commercial,
organisational and people leadership capabilities
Candidates who bring exceptional fine dining credentials but sit slightly outside the traditional brief are also encouraged to apply.
