Brendale

Senior Accountant / Business Advisor

Trinity Advisory | Brendale, North Brisbane $140,000–$150,000 + Super | Genuine Employee Equity | Advisory-Led Firm

Highlights

- $140K–$150K + Super + genuine employee equity

- Move beyond compliance into real business advisory

- Help shape Trinity's new Brendale office from the ground up

You Didn't Train for Seven Years to Stay a Compliance Machine

If your job today looks exactly like it did five years ago, just with more clients on the file, that's not a career. That's a treadmill.

We're opening a Trinity office in Brendale, and we're looking for an experienced accountant who wants what most firms put in the ad but rarely deliver: a real seat at the table, genuine equity in the business, and clients who expect more than a tax return once a year.

And when we say equity, we mean it.

This year alone, Trinity gave more than $300,000 in equity to our employees, at no cost to them, through our employee share scheme.

That's not a vague promise about ownership someday. It's proof that the people who help build Trinity genuinely have the opportunity to share in the value they create.

The Opportunity

This isn't a promotion in title only.

You'll work directly with established business owners who already expect commercial advice, accountability and insight from their accountant.

Your job is to help them understand their numbers and use that clarity to build a stronger business, not simply survive the next BAS or get another tax return lodged.

You'll also be joining Brendale early enough to have a genuine influence over how the office develops, how clients are looked after and the culture we build around it.

If Brendale becomes a significant Trinity office over the next five years, you'll have been there from the beginning and helped shape what it became.

What You'll Actually Do

- Run financial statements, tax returns, GST and tax planning, done properly, not just done

- Lead client meetings and own strong, long-term client relationships

- Sit across the table from business owners and tell them what their numbers actually mean

- Dig into cash flow, pricing, margins, profitability and where the real commercial opportunities sit

- Look beyond the numbers into positioning, niche, team and culture when those things are affecting performance

- Turn what you uncover into decisions owners can actually act on

- Help clients improve performance rather than simply report what happened last year

- Play an active role in building the Brendale office as the team grows

Who Thrives Here

We need the technical bar met. But we need more than technical competence.

You'll ideally have:

- 7+ years in public practice

- CA or CPA qualification

- Manager-level experience, or close enough that the gap is small

- Confidence owning client relationships and leading meetings rather than sitting beside someone else while they do it

- The ability to tell a business owner an uncomfortable truth when it's the right call

- Genuine curiosity about how businesses make money, not just how they report it

- Strong capability across Xero, XPM, FYI, Excel modelling and AI-enabled workflows

- A desire to build something, not just staff something

If you enjoy asking why margins moved, where cash is disappearing, what pricing needs to change and what the owner should do next, you'll probably enjoy this role.

Why Trinity

We don't expect you to take our word for it.

Ask our clients, or better yet, read what they say.

There are more than 50 client testimonials on our website, including over 20 video testimonials. The common theme is that businesses become stronger, margins improve and, for a number of our clients, profits have doubled over several years of working with us.

Our work has also been recognised externally:

- Boutique Firm Partner, Winner, Australian Accounting Awards, 2025

- Community Partner, Winner, Xero Awards Australia, 2024

- People's Choice, Winner, Xero Awards Australia, 2023

- Regional / Suburban Firm of the Year,

Winner, Australian Accounting Awards, 2021

But the part of Trinity we're proudest of isn't an award.

Last November, around fifty of our clients and their partners came together for our annual charity lunch and raised more than $500,000 for the local hospital foundation in a single day.

Over six years, that event has now raised more than $1.8 million.

Nobody made those clients participate.

To us, it says something about the community that has grown around Trinity and the relationships we've built with the business owners we work with.

Help Build Brendale

Brendale isn't an established branch you'll simply slot into.

It's being built by an experienced team leader relocating specifically to help establish it, backed by the broader Trinity team as it grows.

You'll have the opportunity to influence:

- How the office operates

- How client relationships are managed

- How advisory is delivered

- How the team develops

- The culture we build locally

Your voice will count because you'll be joining while there is still something meaningful to shape.

Share in What You Help Build

Our employee share scheme exists for a simple reason: we believe the people who help create the value should have the opportunity to participate in it.

There is already a genuine mechanism for employees to become shareholders and share in the value they are helping create.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to build much more than a salary.

Practical Details

This is an office-based role in Brendale, North Brisbane, with client meetings, occasional site visits and periodic travel within Queensland.

We're deliberately not positioning this as another accounting job offering the same work from a different desk.

We're looking for someone who wants greater responsibility, stronger commercial exposure, meaningful client relationships, and the prospect to participate in the business they are helping grow.

How to Apply

If you want equity in the outcome, not just a payslip for producing it, apply now with your resume and a short cover letter telling us why this is the move you're ready to make.
