THE COMPANY
A leading and rapidly expanding poultry production business is seeking an experienced Livestock Operations Manager to provide leadership, coaching and operational support across a network of breeder farms in Regional Victoria. This is an opportunity for an experienced livestock professional to step into a broader leadership role, working across multiple sites and supporting Farm Managers and their teams to achieve strong production, welfare and operational outcomes.
The successful candidate will bring experience in intensive livestock production, gained within the poultry, pig or beef industries, together with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You will play a key role in developing people, improving operational consistency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Based in the Bendigo VIC region, this key leadership position will work closely with Farm Managers and site teams across multiple breeder farms to optimise flock performance and improve operational outcomes.
You will provide practical support and guidance to farm teams, helping drive consistency across the network while contributing to the business’s production, welfare, safety and performance objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor and support Farm Managers across multiple sites;
- Monitor and improve flock performance, including weights, uniformity, mortality and egg production;
- Analyse production data and implement strategies to improve performance;
- Maintain high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, safety and quality assurance;
- Support labour planning, operational efficiency and cost management;
- Collaborate with technical specialists, veterinarians and suppliers;
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across breeder operations;
- Build capability within farm teams through coaching, mentoring and practical support.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Significant experience managing intensive livestock operations;
- Robust leadership and people management capability;
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop farm teams;
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills;
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach;
- Current driver’s licence.
REMUNERATION
An attractive salary package will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
