Senior Clinical Dental Assistant

Full-time | Central Coast | Senior clinical leadership role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Clinical Dental Assistant to join our multidisciplinary dental team and play an important role in our large and growing practice.

We are a locally owned dental practice with over 30 years of experience, providing comprehensive dental care across general, cosmetic, restorative, implant, surgical, orthodontic and sedation dentistry. We are an established and growing, patient-focused practice with a solid focus on clinical quality, innovation and creating an excellent experience for every patient.

About the role

This is a hands-on senior position combining high-level clinical support with team leadership and day-to-day clinical operations. You’ll provide high-level chairside assistance across a range of procedures, with a particular focus on implant surgery, sedation and complex patient care, while supporting the Dental Assistant team and helping maintain consistently high clinical standards.

You’ll also help oversee day-to-day clinical operations, improve systems and processes, and support the continued growth of the practice. This includes identifying workflow improvements, resolving operational issues, maintaining clinical protocols and supporting consistency across the team.

You will be well supported by the practice owner, manager and senior leadership team. You’ll have experienced people around you to provide guidance, support and a sounding board when needed.

You will:

- Provide high-level chairside and clinical support across general, surgical, implant, periodontal and restorative procedures (including sedation) using four-handed dentistry.

- Lead, support and mentor the Dental Assistant team, including onboarding, training and development.

- Maintain high standards of infection control, sterilisation,



room preparation and clinical compliance.

- Coordinate clinical workflows, patient schedules, equipment and stock.

- Review and improve systems and processes to improve efficiency, consistency and patient experience.

A key part of the role is contributing to our friendly, supportive, positive and solutions-focused team culture.

You’ll be someone who takes ownership, follows tasks through to completion, solves problems and works collaboratively with clinicians, DAs and the wider team.

This position is available for immediate start, however we are more than happy to accommodate existing notice periods.

You’ll bring

- Minimum 5 years’ dental industry experience, with strong experience in implant and surgical assisting with four-handed dentistry.

- Strong knowledge of sterilisation, infection control and clinical compliance.

- Experience coordinating clinical teams, appointments and multiple priorities.

- Excellent communication, leadership, organisational and time-management skills.

- Confidence identifying issues and implementing practical solutions.

- Experience with Dental4Windows or similar software.

- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is desirable, but relevant experience and capability will be considered.
