About the role

Giannitto Family Hotels is seeking an experienced Duty Manager/Bar Attendant to join our team in Gawler, South Australia. This is a full-time position that combines the operational oversight of a duty manager with hands-on bar service expertise. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining exceptional customer service standards, and managing bar service during your shifts. This role is pivotal to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for our guests and staff, directly contributing to the success of our hospitality operations.

Key responsibilities

1. Overseeing bar and general hospitality operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all services run smoothly and efficiently

2. Serving beverages and food with professionalism and attention to detail, maintaining high standards of customer service

3. Managing cash handling, processing transactions accurately, and reconciling till records at the end of shifts

4. Monitoring stock levels for beverages, spirits and bar supplies, placing orders as needed and ensuring proper storage

5. Training and supporting bar staff, ensuring compliance with responsible service of alcohol (RSA) guidelines and house policies

6. Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic bar environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

7. Responding to customer enquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally

8. Assisting with the opening and closing procedures of the bar, including setting up equipment and completing end-of-shift duties

9. Communicating effectively with management regarding operational concerns,



staff performance and customer feedback

10. Upholding company standards and contributing to a positive workplace culture

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as a bar attendant or in a similar hospitality role, preferably in a hotel or pub environment

2. Experience in a supervisory or duty manager capacity, with the ability to lead and motivate staff

3. Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or willingness to obtain it

4. Strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails, wines and general bar operations

5. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

6. Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling

7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-focused approach

9. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene and safety standards

10. Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and carry items safely

11. A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
