What we are looking for:

We're seeking two motivated and hands-on Parks Supervisors to lead the delivery of maintenance programs across Council's parks, reserves, sports fields and public open spaces. One position will be based in Hervey Bay and one in Maryborough.

Working closely with operational teams, you will coordinate daily activities, lead and support staff, and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is an opportunity to take ownership of work programs that directly contribute to the presentation, functionality and enjoyment of some of the Fraser Coast's most valued community spaces. You will also bring experience using digital works management systems and reporting tools to support planning, monitoring and service delivery outcomes.

What your day will look like:

- Leading and supporting a team of parks and horticultural staff to deliver quality services.
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance programs, resources and contractors.
- Monitoring parks, recreational facilities and open space assets to ensure agreed service standards are achieved.
- Promoting a strong safety culture through effective risk management and compliance with WHS requirements.
- Building positive relationships with internal stakeholders, community groups and customers.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and team performance.

What you’ll need for success:

- Experience leading or supervising operational works teams.
- Knowledge of parks, horticulture,



open space maintenance or related operational environments.
- Strong planning, organisation and resource coordination skills.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- A practical approach to problem solving and service delivery.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

What’s nice to have:

- Diploma (AQF 5 or above) in Leadership and Management or a related discipline
- Certificate (AQF IV or above) in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens) or a related discipline
- ACDC Chemical Distribution Licence
- First Aid Certificate
