About the Role
The Safer Community Investigations Advisor is responsible for the intake, assessment, investigation and risk management of referrals relating to inappropriate, concerning or threatening behaviours involving students.
Working within the University’s Safer Community service, the role manages matters including gender-based violence, discrimination, threats, intimidation, violence and child safety concerns. The position undertakes investigations, supports alternative resolution and misconduct decision-making processes, and contributes to effective behavioural risk management.
The role works collaboratively across Safer Community and with University stakeholders to coordinate responses, support prevention initiatives and promote a safe, inclusive and respectful university community in line with relevant legislation, policies and sector standards.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills, including managing people in crisis and those who are highly emotional, aggressive or suicidal
- Demonstrated skills experience in working with a multidisciplinary team, including managing behavioural risks in a frontline service
- Highly developed report-writing and presentation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to being sensitive, analytical and flexible in case formulation and liaison between persons of concern, targets of risk, and the organisation
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in areas of social work, psychology, legal, public health, or related disciplines
