On behalf of our client, an established professional service firm, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Work Health & Safety Manager (WH&S;) to lead the health and safety function across Australia and New Zealand for a large, complex organisation.
This is a senior leadership opportunity where you'll shape the organisation's WH&S; strategy, influence Executive stakeholders, and foster a proactive safety culture across multiple sites. Working as part of the Shared Services Leadership Team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring best-practice safety governance, legislative compliance, and continuous improvement.
You'll work closely with Executive Leadership and key stakeholders to identify emerging risks, strengthen governance, improve safety performance, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. You'll also oversee WH&S; reporting, assurance activities, incident management, risk frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the organisation's WH&S; strategy across Australia and New Zealand.
- Lead and continuously improve the WH&S; Management System, policies and governance frameworks.
- Partner with Executive Leaders to build a solid and sustainable safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with WH&S; legislation, regulatory obligations and industry best practice.
- Oversee incident investigations, hazard identification, risk assessments and corrective actions.
- Design and implement practical WH&S; frameworks, controls and assurance programs.
- Lead WH&S; reporting, including Executive, Board and Committee reporting, KPIs and risk dashboards.
- Manage internal audits, compliance reviews and regulator engagement where required.
- Oversee WH&S; systems and technology platforms to improve reporting and performance insights.
- Lead emergency management planning and evacuation procedures across multiple locations.
- Support and mentor WH&S; Councils and key business stakeholders.
- Maintain WH&S; risks, controls and assurance activities within governance systems, ensuring strong audit outcomes.
- Identify trends, analyse safety performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external providers and support Facilities and Shared Services projects from a WH&S; perspective.
About You
You're a confident and influential safety leader who can operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required. You enjoy building strong relationships, driving organisational change and partnering with leaders to create safer, more engaged workplaces.
You'll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline.
- 5–7+ years' experience in a senior WH&S; leadership role within a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience presenting to Executive Leadership Teams and Boards.
- Proven success delivering organisation-wide WH&S; strategies and transformational change initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WH&S; legislation and safety management systems.
- Experience managing critical risk, workers' compensation and regulator relationships.
- Experience working across multiple locations and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and contemporary WH&S; best practice.
- Excellent reporting, analytical and presentation skills.
- Strong governance, compliance and audit experience.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
