Maintenance Manager – Boutique Guesthouse | Byron Bay

28 Degrees is a beautiful boutique guesthouse located in the heart of Byron Bay. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on and proactive Maintenance Manager to join our small team and help keep our property looking and functioning at its very best.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the little things and enjoys working independently in a beautiful hospitality environment.

The Role

We are looking for someone to oversee the general maintenance and upkeep of our guesthouse, ensuring everything is well maintained, presented and working as it should for our guests.

The role is approximately 4 days per week, 10am–1pm, with some flexibility around days and hours where required.

Your responsibilities will include:

- General property maintenance and repairs

- Regular checks of guest rooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas and common spaces

- Identifying and addressing maintenance issues before they become problems

- Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general handyman tasks

- Pool and outdoor area maintenance

- Caring for and maintaining indoor and outdoor plants, including watering, pruning and general plant care

- Garden and property upkeep as required

- Looking after bikes and guesthouse equipment

- Liaising with tradespeople when specialist work is required

- Managing maintenance supplies and keeping the maintenance area organised

- Responding to any urgent maintenance issues that arise





- Helping maintain the high standard of presentation that 28 Degrees is known for

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in property maintenance, handyman work or a similar role

- Practical, capable and confident working independently

- Reliable, punctual and well organised

- A great problem solver who doesn't need to be told what needs doing

- Detail-oriented and takes genuine pride in their work

- Confident and knowledgeable when it comes to plant and garden care

- Comfortable working around guests in a boutique hospitality environment

- Friendly, approachable and professional

- Ideally experienced with pools, gardens and general property upkeep

A trade qualification or relevant experience would be highly regarded, but we are equally interested in someone with excellent practical skills and a strong work ethic.
