Football Victoria (FV) is the governing body for football in Victoria. We are committed to providing a quality service to the broader community with integrity and professional excellence. Through open communications and a dedication to equal opportunity, our vision is to be the most outstanding sporting body in Australia, leading to success in the world game.
We are recognised as the organisation responsible for the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal (indoor football) in the state by both the State and Federal Governments, as well as Football Australia (FA).
Our funding derives from membership and club affiliation fees, government grants and corporate sponsorship.
Through the national body's affiliation with FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), we look after everything football in Victoria including:
- Semi-professional ranks;
- Amateurs;
- Youth;
- Referees;
- Coaches;
- Officials;
- Volunteers.
FV is committed to providing a quality service to the broad community with integrity and qualified excellence.
FV is a not-for-profit sporting organisation run by a Board of Directors, elected by football stakeholders made up of Clubs. We reinvest revenue generated by the game in a financially prudent manner, prioritising in providing more coaching, education, facilities, support and participation opportunities to the community and our partners back to where it is needed most.
We currently employ over 80 staff to deliver on the FV Strategic Plan (“OurFootball”) and administration of weekly football matches, producing annual football fixtures and appropriate rules of competition. Referees are also appointed to these matches to facilitate a safer and more enjoyable participation experience.
We also deliver education and resources to talented players, coaches, referees, and club volunteers while promoting the game through various channels, keeping our members informed regularly through a dedicated communications program.
FV has a clearly articulated strategic priority to reach 50:50 participation across all aspects of our game by 2027 and stand united as an organisation to ensure it is central to all our decision making.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Coordinator - Social Football supports the planning, coordination and delivery of Football Victoria's social football competitions and programs, including Go Football initiatives. The role provides operational and administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of social football activities,
contributes to participation growth initiatives, and assists the broader Participation & Programs team during peak operational periods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Delivery
- Coordinate the delivery of social football competitions and programs in line with agreed timelines and operational requirements.
- Support participant registrations, team entries, fixture scheduling and competition administration.
- Assist the Lead Coordinator - Social Football with season planning, competition delivery and venue coordination.
- Ensure program information and participant records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide on-the-ground operational support at social football competitions, events and activations.
Participation Growth
- Support the implementation of strategies aimed at increasing participation in social football programs.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to attract new participants and retain existing participants.
- Contribute to the promotion of social football activities through approved communication and marketing channels.
- Assist with participant engagement initiatives and program activations.
Club & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, clubs, venue partners and community stakeholders.
- Respond to participant, club and stakeholder enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Support the Lead Coordinator - Social Football in maintaining stakeholder relationships and program partnerships.
Participation and Programs Team Support
- Provide operational and administrative support to other Participation & Programs initiatives during peak delivery periods.
- Assist with participation events, programs and campaigns as required.
- Work collaboratively across the Participation & Programs team to support shared objectives and operational priorities.
- Undertake additional project and event support responsibilities as directed by the Lead Coordinator - Social Football and Manager - Participation & Programs
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records relating to social football competitions and programs.
- Prepare reporting information and participation data as requested by the Lead Coordinator - Social Football.
- Assist with budget tracking, invoicing and administrative processes associated with social football delivery.
- Support program evaluation activities and stakeholder feedback collection
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Valid Working with Children Check & Driver’s Licence.
- Tertiary qualification in sports administration/management or relevant discipline is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in participation, education, or sport program management.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to multiple participation programs and projects simultaneously
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and delivering solutions-focused outcomes across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in data collection, reporting, and performance measurement to inform strategic planning, program evaluation, and investment decisions in participation programs.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in applying inclusive sport principles, with a demonstrated commitment to increasing access and participation among diverse communities, including underrepresented groups.
- Demonstrable passion for the organisation’s vision, mission, core values.
- Ability to undertake domestic travel in delivery of duties and work unique hours inclusive of weekend and evening work as required.
- A thorough understanding and proven ability and desire to develop the game of Football.
This position regularly requires non-traditional hours and frequent weekend work. Travel is primarily local during business days; some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
