Wanless Waste Management is seeking an experienced Branch Manager / Business Development Manager to lead our operations and accelerate commercial growth across Eastern Sydney. This hands-on role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who can manage day-to-day branch performance, develop strong customer relationships and win new business in a competitive market.

The Prospect

This is a broad leadership opportunity combining branch management, operational oversight and business development. You will be accountable for branch performance, service delivery, customer retention and revenue growth, balancing operational priorities with proactive market development across Eastern Sydney.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day performance of the Eastern Sydney branch,



including people, service and operational delivery
- Manage branch budgets, forecasts, costs and commercial performance
- Develop and execute a business development plan to grow revenue and market share
- Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities across commercial and industrial markets
- Build trusted relationships with new and existing customers, maximising retention and account value
- Prepare proposals, negotiate commercial terms and support contract implementation
- Partner with operations to ensure safe, compliant and reliable service delivery
- Lead, coach and develop the branch team while championing safety and continuous improvement

About You

You are a commercially focused leader who can move confidently between branch operations, customer engagement and new business development. You bring strong accountability for commercial outcomes, a practical leadership style and the ability to turn market opportunities into profitable, long-term customer relationships.

What You’ll bring

- Proven experience in branch management, business development, sales leadership or operations in the Waste Management industry
- Demonstrated success growing revenue,



winning current business and retaining key accounts
- Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing and margin management
- Experience leading teams and coordinating service delivery in a fast-paced environment
- Waste, recycling, transport, logistics or related industry experience is highly regarded
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills
- A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout Sydney
