Lake Joondalup Baptist College seeks to appoint a Facilities and Property Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring that the College’s buildings, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard through effective leadership, planning, maintenance management and compliance oversight.
The Facilities and Property Manager will oversee all aspects of property maintenance, coordinate minor building projects and refurbishments, manage contractors and cleaning services and provide advice relating to workplace health and safety, environmental considerations and facilities planning. The successful candidate will have a practical, hands-on approach, strong leadership capability, and experience within a similar facilities, property management or building maintenance environment.
This is a full-time position commencing in September 2026.
Essential Selection Criteria
- A committed Christian and an active member of a church.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and support grounds and maintenance staff to achieve high standards of service.
- Experience managing property maintenance, facilities operations, contractors and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with College staff, contractors, suppliers and the wider College community.
- Strong communication skills,
including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, risk management and compliance obligations relevant to facilities and property management.
- Experience coordinating preventative maintenance programs, asset management and property improvement projects.
- Ability to develop project scopes, obtain quotations and coordinate minor capital works and refurbishment projects.
- General building trade knowledge and practical maintenance skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with a willingness to be hands-on and contribute to the daily operation of the College.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Grounds and Maintenance Team, including allocating tasks, providing guidance and maintaining a positive team environment.
- Coordinate and respond to maintenance requests from staff and students in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage preventative maintenance programs, compliance schedules and facility records.
- Oversee contractors, cleaning services, suppliers and maintenance agreements.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with College policies, WHS requirements and relevant standards.
- Manage maintenance budgets, expenditure and procurement processes.
- Coordinate minor building works, refurbishments,
upgrades and property improvement projects.
- Maintain records relating to assets, warranties, service histories and compliance requirements.
- Support emergency response procedures, including after-hours maintenance responses as required.
- Assist with facilities planning, capital works and long-term property management strategies.
- Support College events through room setups, furniture movement and operational requirements.
- Participate in the College Work Health and Safety Committee and contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Business and Operations.
