We are seeking dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander professionals to join our team as an Aboriginal Key Worker at Ravenhall Correctional Centre. Full Time Salary $91,000 to $94,000 (based on experience) plus superannuation

Ravenhall Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia and is Victoria’s largest medium-security correctional facility for adult men.

Our work is grounded in rehabilitation, reintegration, and creating safer communities through culturally responsive and person-centred support. Ravenhall works collaboratively with community organisations, cultural services, healthcare providers, and reintegration partners to support people both during custody and after release.

About the Opportunity

As an Aboriginal Key Worker, you will provide culturally safe case management and reintegration support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in custody. You will play a vital role in helping men reconnect with culture, family, services, and community while supporting positive long-term outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

- Supporting successful transition back into community




- Strengthening cultural identity and community connection
- Developing culturally informed reintegration and support plans
- Advocating for the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the justice system
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, Elders, Aboriginal organisations, and community partners
- Providing cultural guidance and support to staff to promote culturally safe practice

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Has strong cultural knowledge and community connection
- Demonstrates empathy, leadership and advocacy skills
- Has experience working in community services, justice, welfare, social work, mental health or related sectors
- Can build respectful and professional relationships with a wide range of people
- Is passionate about supporting healing, rehabilitation and reducing reoffending
- Works well both independently and within a culturally aligned team environment

Desirable:

- Experience working within justice or corrections is valued but not essential.

- In-Person (preferred) or Virtual Interview Attendance.
- Reference checks will be conducted following the interview.
- National Police Certificate Authority Clearance
- Pre-Employment Medical and Fitness Assessment, which will be covered by our organisation. The evaluation will likely include various aspects, including assessed lifting capacity, aerobic fitness, lung function, grip strength, upper body strength, lower body strength, and core strength.

Significant: Please note that Pre-Employment clearance can take approximately 6-8 weeks.
