About the Role

The Platform Fraud & Investigations Specialist is responsible for identifying, investigating and preventing fraud across Mable's digital platform. The role sits within the Customer Safeguarding team, leading complex fraud investigations, identifying emerging risks and providing strategic recommendations to strengthen platform controls, operations and fraud‑prevention capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Proactively monitor the platform for suspicious activity and emerging fraud trends.
- Conduct end‑to‑end investigations into fraud incidents and assess impact on customers and the business.
- Investigate identity fraud, account compromise, payment fraud, scams, platform misuse and other emerging typologies.
- Analyse customer behaviour, platform activity and data to identify patterns and vulnerabilities.
- Recommend actions to minimise customer harm, reduce organisational risk and strengthen fraud‑prevention outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve safeguards, processes and controls based on findings.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data and other stakeholders to support improvements.
- Assess the fraud implications of new features, operational changes and business initiatives.
- Report on fraud trends, investigation outcomes and key metrics.
- Develop and maintain fraud‑related policies, procedures and playbooks.
- Provide guidance and education to Customer Operations teams.
- Stay informed of evolving fraud techniques and industry best practice.




- Build relationships with mandates and stakeholders to improve prevention and investigation outcomes.
- Support the maintenance of a safe, trusted and secure digital platform.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Experience investigating fraud within digital or trust‑and‑safety environments.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify patterns and assess risk.
- Knowledge of identity fraud, account compromise, payment fraud, scams, social engineering and digital‑platform misuse.
- Ability to develop practical, evidence‑based recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and building relationships across operational and technical teams.
- Sound judgement balancing fraud prevention, customer experience and safeguarding outcomes.

Desirable

- Experience working within an online platform, customer operations, trust & safety, healthcare, disability, aged care or financial services.
- Experience using fraud monitoring tools, case management systems or data analytics.
- Knowledge of Australian privacy legislation, fraud‑risk management principles and regulatory obligations.
- Experience developing fraud procedures, playbooks or investigation frameworks.
