Overview

Registered Nurses are invited to join Granada Ward, a specialised inpatient rehabilitation and palliative care unit at St John of God Frankston Hospital. The unit handles a diverse caseload including post-orthopaedic rehabilitation, neurological recovery following stroke, reconditioning after cardiac and respiratory illness, post-cancer care, pain management, and end-of-life support. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centred care in a rewarding and wide-ranging clinical environment. Permanent positions offer predominantly morning and afternoon shifts across a 24-hour roster, including weekends and public holidays. Ongoing education and support are provided to develop your clinical practice.

Responsibilities

- Provide direct patient care through ongoing nursing assessment and documentation of nursing interventions and patient responses in the medical notes.
- Develop a holistic approach to patient education and discharge planning, involving the patient and family in multidisciplinary care.
- Ensure access to pastoral care as appropriate, including spiritual ministrations and counselling.
- Maintain a unit environment that supports patient comfort and safety and guides staff regarding hospital policy, work health and safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and Nurses’ Board Policy regarding storage and use of Drugs of Addiction and related medications.

Qualifications and Experience

- Current AHPRA registration with recent experience in rehabilitation and/or acute nursing.




- Rehabilitation settings experience, FIM credentialling, wound management, and palliative care are highly regarded.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Rehabilitation Nursing are highly regarded.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care and the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.

- Salary: AUD 85,480 to 107,881 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation. Permanent part-time positions available.
