Due to increased activity within the exploration and geology department, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Core Yard Technician to support site-based geological programs on an initial 2-month contract.
Your current role As a Core Yard Technician, you will play a key role in supporting geological and exploration activities on site.
Your responsibilities will include:
Receiving, handling, and organising drill core samples
Core tray preparation, labelling, and storage
Cutting and sampling drill core in accordance with site procedures
Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient core yard
Assisting geologists with sample dispatch and data collection
Operating core saws and other core yard equipment
Conducting manual handling and lifting of core trays




Supporting daily geology and exploration activities as required
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working in a core yard, exploration, or mining setting
Experience handling and processing drill core
Strong commitment to safety and site procedures
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Current Australian driver's licence
Forklift ticket (desirable)
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
FIFO experience highly regarded
